This is a collection of all the commissions I have made for a friend of mine. These illustrations were made for his comrades, who had specific requests for what will become plaques and engravings as a parting gift. All the designs incorporate either Marine or Military themes and most designs have a skull or skeleton. They are all listed in chronological order of completion as they were done during my free time and with input.
Tequila Don Julio Hard Edition
The tequila bottle was the first design I made for my friend. He first approached me as to what is the best software to use to create it himself before I suggested that I can create the design myself with the given reference. He agreed to my offer and was impressed by what I could do. While the design itself appears to be a bit empty, the final product that came out included an image of his crew and an inscription to the person who is being gifted.
Mariachi Skull
This design was a bit more out there for me but I enjoyed making it. It was really the first time for me to create a vector drawing of a skull as well as creating a mariachi hat. There were a few things I have learned that I applied to later illustrations that will be later seen.
Rick Marine Portal
The design shown above was probably the most time-consuming commission I have made in this collection. With that said, there was some fun I had while drawing and illustrating the two characters: Rick and Voodoo Ranger. The art style from the show "Rick and Morty" is an iconic one that I learned to use and adapt for the most part.
Among Us Imposter Marine
Compared to the rest, this design was one of the easiest to create. The illustration here is a character from "Among Us," a multiplayer video game where you complete tasks before the imposters kill everyone on board a ship or in a base. This here is an imposter with a bloody ax and the skull revealed from his face. Like the rest, it incorporates the 1/6 Marines logo and the EGA logo.
Indian Skeleton With A Mechanical Heart
Since skulls had become a recurring theme, it was inevitable for there to be a skeletal figure as part of the illustration. It was a little tricky at first to draw the lines without being confused by which part was in front and which is in the back. The heart was one of my favorite parts of this illustration as I enjoy mechanical aesthetics.
Night Vision Skull
Could you imagine being crushed and eaten by a giant skull? You don't need to since you're seeing it with your own eyes. Here, it goes back to a skull as the main subject but mainly sticks only to the military theme.
Skeleton Executioner
This one here is my personal favorite out of the bunch. While retaining the skeleton theme, the executioner is the main subject as he is getting rid of negative thoughts and actions. The guitar ax in particular was generally well-received and the infused skull will be screaming terror and heavy sounds before the final swing.
Rambo Golfer Skeleton
The latest in the collection so far and probably the last. This one contains the most amount of military references among other things. It's nice to see Rambo enjoying his retirement by playing golf. All he has to worry about now is a few explosions and a giant shark.
